Hal is co- director of Whangarei Physio and Hand Therapy with Julie Taylor. He feels privileged to lead what he believes is the most experienced and most qualified team of physiotherapists in Whangarei.
With almost 20 years of experience and a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy he is well accomplished. Hal’s experience has included working in busy sports medicine clinics in Christchurch, Melbourne and the UK before bringing his experience back to Whangarei.
Hal completed his Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy in Melbourne and was fortunate to spend time working with the Gold Coast Suns AFL team as well as Tennis Australia, treating some of Australia’s best Tennis and AFL players. He has also worked with elite Rugby Union and Basketball teams and with many elite athletes as a Sports Physiotherapist in New Zealand, England and Australia. Hal was awarded the title ‘APA Sports Physiotherapist’ whilst living in Australia, in recognition of his expertise in Sports Physiotherapy.
He continues to be involved in sport at grass roots level in particular as Physio for the Kamo “Magpies” Senior Rugby side.
Sports physiotherapy and gym rehabilitation are his passions and Hal gains great satisfaction working with active people of all levels
He has particular interest in rehabilitation of the shoulder and knee including post operatively and stands by what can be achieved through a consistent effort at a sensible and well-structured strengthening program targeted to achieve muscle balance and build physical capacity.
In his spare time Hal enjoys Weight Training, Tennis, Freediving, and spending time with his wife and two sons, enjoying the great outdoor lifestyle that Northland has to offer.
