Throughout Julie’s career she has placed a strong emphasis on continuing education to further her knowledge of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy.
She has achieved two awards; the John Morris Memorial Prize and the NZMPA Award, for excellence in clinical reasoning & practical skills, and has published in the New Zealand Journal of Physiotherapy.
Julie enjoys the diagnostic challenges of physio and hand therapy and treating a variety of acute injuries and overuse conditions. Her depth of knowledge in both physiotherapy and hand therapy facilitate a wholistic approach and afford her the skills needed to promote a timely recovery from injury.
Julie has also involved with the Physiotherapy profession at a national level as a Competency and Recertification Assessor for the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and as an Associate Editor for the New Zealand Journal of Physiotherapy.
After more than 10years working at Whangarei Physiotherapy Services, Julie has come on board as a Director of what is now to be known as Whangarei Physio and Hand Therapy. She is looking forward to the challenges of moving the business forward with co-Director, Hal Blank, while still servicing her clients in the clinic.
Outside of work when she is not running around after her two boys and encouraging their many interests, Julie is an avid tennis player who enjoys staying active.
